The [AP] Blog

About

Hi. I am Charlie Styr, I became interested in photography, probably before I hit double-figures on the old year-counter, and since then I have done numerous things.

The biggest thing for my photography has to have been joining Flickr, this has meant that I have shared my work, listening to criticism, and since then dished some out too. I have met many friends, interesting and great people, and from Flickr alone, I feel my photography has reached it’s quality that it is now.

As well as this, on Flickr, I felt alone as a teenager, there weren’t many around, as such I created the ‘Teenage Photographers’ group, which now has over 4,000 members, and is bustling with great conversation, and the quality of the photography in the pool is beyond amazing.

Continuing from the group, I was written to by a publisher in New York City, who wanted to do a book on teenage photography, and as such I have undertaken this task, and at time of writing, it is near enough done, with an estimated press time of March, 2009. This is something I have been proud of, and a real success of the Internet world.

With all this going, I have been trying to maintain this blog on photography in the background. I built up a stable readership when the blog was hosted over on Blogger, but, I had to move, since it was limiting me, and it wasn’t fun. After a big cafuffle with GoDaddy, I switched to Dreamhost, and now the blog seems to be running smoothly.

So, enjoy my laboured hours over this blog, and have a good time!
